Netherlands Margazhi Utsavam 2018

Madras Chorus in Association with Gandhi Centre – The Embassy Of India, will be organizing the first ever ‘The Netherlands Carnatic Music Festival ‘ this December which will witness the celebration of Carnatic music and classical dance.

Margazhi, the 9th month of the Tamil Calendar, occurs between mid-December and mid-January. The name of the month is derived from the Sanskrit word Margasirsi.

The Margazhi Utsavam, is a defining feature of Chennai’s cultural landscape that provides a holistic experience of traditional food, clothing and the arts. It is a season where the city
comes alive to the ragas and rhythms of music as vocalists, instrumentalists and dancers invoke Gods and Goddesses through myriad compositions.

It is our sincere attempt to bring the ever famous Margazhi Madras / Utsavam to the Capital City Hague, this December. Register via https://www.madraschorus.com/events/ Entry is free and open to all music and dance lovers.
